Vintage Vibes

Top: TJ Maxx (old)
Jeans: H&M ($10!!)
Booties: Target (old)
Watch: Michael Kors
Sunnies: Ray-Ban
Bag: Louis Vuitton

Going with a relaxed, casual look today. Cheers to Alyssa once again for lending me this gorgeous vintage Louis which was purchased when I was a whole 4 years away from entering the world. Amazing how Louis is just always the perfect accessory.

Black and chambray is such an easy, low-key combo and I added a little color with my reflective Ray-bans (on sale at Nordstrom now!!). These booties are from last season at Target but I linked a few similar options below.

Finally, I'm obsessed with this black MK watch (another Black Friday purchase…oops!) and can't wait to try it with different looks. I feel like it's more casual than fancy, what do you think?

Free Fallin'

Top: Target
Denim: Vigoss (old)
Shoes: Steve Madden (old)
Scarf: Gift (from a small boutique)
Sunnies: Karen Walker

Fall calls for one of my favorite color palettes -- warm neutrals -- like olive, tan, beige, oxblood, and as always, dark denim.

This basic layering shirt from Target was such a great find and I'm glad I went back and stocked up in several colors. Pairing it with my favorite distressed denim and a nude heel, I was feeling pretty fallish.

I finished the look with my favorite Louis Vuitton (one of my first "I'm a grown up now" purchases a few years ago) and this beautiful elephant scarf I received as a birthday gift from one of my best friends.   I have an obsession with elephants so this scarf is a regular in my fall wardrobe.

Scarves, dark denim, and a looser top are my favorite fall staples -- so  many good combos, not enough fall season!

Neutral Lace

Top: TJ Maxx
Jeans: Kensie
Shoes: Alloy
Necklace: Aldo Accessories (old || similar here
Bracelet: J. Crew Factory
Watch: Michael Kors
Bag: Louis Vuitton

Fine, so it's fall today. That doesn't mean I can't rock this neutral end of summer look before accepting that cold weather is making itself at home here in Boston for the next few 87 months.

I've worn this lace top several ways this summer. I loved this look for keeping things simple and neutral with some really nice details. The lace top, the suede lace up shoes, and some jewels go a long way to making this outfit stand out.

I've officially retired my summer Louis until next season. I'm ready to move on to crisp, dark, romantic colors for the fall season. However, I think you may be seeing a few more white looks as we continue the transition to fall….rules, schmules.

Do you retire any summer wardrobe staples?

Chillin' Out, Maxin'

Maxi dress: Marshalls
Sandals: Tory Burch
Handbag: Louis Vuitton
Sunglasses: Karen Walker

On some days in the summer heat, there is nothing better than a simple maxi dress. Easy on, minimal effort, cool and breezy material - and you're out the door looking fabulous in under 5 minutes. Unfortunately, the same cannot be said for hair in this New England humidity.

This is one of my favorite maxis to throw on before heading to brunch or out grocery shopping because  it's super comfortable but has details that make it look like you tried slightly harder. I paired it with my summer go to Tory sandals, my favorite handbag, and the largest sunglasses on planet earth that I actually cannot get enough of. I was coveting these Karen Walker beauties for months before finally taking the leap and purchasing my own.

Any major purchases you're mulling over these days? I'm always keeping a list of items I want on my Pinterest. Feel free to inspire me!

Summer Favorites

The backdrop of these photos are some of my favorite summer spots in the city. You really can't beat any place on the waterfront. I'm on vacation all week which is amazing and I spent the day here yesterday to celebrate Chris, my manfriend, who turned 28! We had a cocktail on the roof deck at Legal Harborside and tried a new spot - Sam's -  as well!

Peplum Top: J. Crew Factory
Jeans: Kensie
Shoes: Alloy
Necklace: J. Crew Factory
Sunshades: Rayban
Wallet: Louis Vuitton

This outfit uses so many trends I'm loving at the moment - a subtle peplum, anything white, these "lace-up sandal booties"(coined from one of my followers), statement jewels and mirrored sunshades. I love it all, might as well show it!

Looking forward to other adventures outside the office this week - what's on your agenda? Any suggestions?

Fields of Fashion

Dress: Forever 21 (no longer online)
Tunic: Target (old)
Wedges: Target (last summer)
Wallet: Louis Vuitton
Sunnies: Ray-ban
Watch: Michael Kors

This maxi dress was another fabulous Forever 21 find that I scooped up for less than $15 one weekend shopping with a girlfriend. The dress is one pattern and strapless and comes with a black braided belt. I've been wearing this dress on repeat so I wanted to try something different.

I tried layering this white tunic over the dress using the braided belt to cinch the waist. I love how it came out! I love outfits that work multiple ways! I could wear this little number to work then remove the tunic and add a fun necklace to take this outfit out to the bar. Always good to have options.

Fun fact: The grass was SOAKED while we were shooting here and so was I by the time I was done sitting for the photos. But come on, we totally had to….I did it in the name of fashion!

So here's the good news - in total this whole outfit (sans Wallet) cost under $30. Here's the bad news - between the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale and all the fashionista inspiration over the past few days, I've been spending a whole lot more than that…

Oh well, cheers to a few amazing upcoming mail days. And as a sort of random side note: if you are on the fence about whether or not the Clarisonic face cleaner is a worthy purchase - I would like to confirm it is. In fact, I'd like to scream that from the rooftops. It's a MUST PURCHASE. Finally caved during the first round Nordstrom sale and I am quite content.

Pristine Pastels

Photos by Maggie Jill Photography

Pants: Kensie
Top: Olive + Oak
Shoes: Nine West || Loving these
Necklace: J. Crew Factory || Similar (and cheaper!) here and loving this
Watch: Michael Kors
Sunnies: Ray-ban
Bag: Louis Vuitton

You know how sometimes your "9 to 5" turns into your "9 to 5 minutes until I'm supposed to be at the restaurant for cocktails and BFF catchup"? An outfit like this is the easiest way to get you from point A to point B with the least amount of chaos.

White jeans are essentially a uniform for the next few months and they pair really well with this pale pink blouse (I consistently try to pair this blouse with blue denim and it just never quite works!). Wearing the blouse buttoned all the way with a glam statement necklace keeps you looking put together and on point for work. When it's time for dinner, ditch the necklace and open a few buttons and you've got a more relaxed style for girl talk. Be serious - you can't be buttoned up when you're openly stating how you think one friend's baby is adorable while another friend's……is…..sort of…nice looking.

Bring a sexier pair of heels to change into for dinner if you want to go the extra mile. Do you find day and night outfit tips helpful? Is it something you'd like to see more of? Let me know - I love the feedback!
