Comfortable Style

Top: Forever 21 (old)
Jeans: Joe's via T.J. Maxx
Shoes: ALDO
Scarf: ASOS (see SheInside for $13 deal!)
Bag: ALDO (old)
Sunnies: Rayban

Everyone has a certain style they just feel their best in -- and it varies depending on occasion. Lucky for for me, the everyday style I am most comfortable in also happens to be super comfortable. It is a difficult science to learn to dress exactly for your body type, but when you find something that really works -- don't be afraid to wear the heck out of it.

For me, the trend is oversized sweaters with fitted bottoms. It makes me feel petite, proportionate, and generally fabulous --- it also makes me feel prepared for a nap at moment's notice (WIN - WIN). Toss a blanket scarf into the mix and I am smitten kitten.

This sweater tunic is an oldie but goodie for Forever 21 and you can find tops like this pretty much anywhere. A top like this, paired with leggings, black jeans, or my best skinny blues and I am ready to head out the door. Boots, heels and flats take turns dressing it up or dressing it down -- but either way, it's my favorite.

What's your comfortable style? Would love to use your style ideas as inspiration for new looks!

Happy New Year!

Top: J. Crew Factory
Skirt: Nordstrom
Vest: TJ Maxx
Boots: Off Broadway Shoes
Clutch: old
Sunnies: Karen Walker
Watch: Michael Kors

Cheers to a fabulous year! 2014 is heading out and 2015 is rushing in and I'm excited to see what it will bring. End cliche year-end commentary.

Let's be honest. This outfit is gorgeous, but realistically, my outfit tonight will most likely be my christmas leggings, a huge sweater, my foot warmer, vino,  and my handsome manfriend and pup as accessories -- the best outfit I could wear tonight.

But in the event I need to be a human and go out in public, this skater skirt and fur vest will do the job. This top and booties were a great Christmas gift from my mom and basically everything looks great with an A-line skirt.

The black clutch says "No, seriously, I'm here to be fancy" and my gigantic sunnies prove I'm fabulous.

What are your plans tonight? What are you wearing?

Vintage Vibes

Top: TJ Maxx (old)
Jeans: H&M ($10!!)
Booties: Target (old)
Watch: Michael Kors
Sunnies: Ray-Ban
Bag: Louis Vuitton

Going with a relaxed, casual look today. Cheers to Alyssa once again for lending me this gorgeous vintage Louis which was purchased when I was a whole 4 years away from entering the world. Amazing how Louis is just always the perfect accessory.

Black and chambray is such an easy, low-key combo and I added a little color with my reflective Ray-bans (on sale at Nordstrom now!!). These booties are from last season at Target but I linked a few similar options below.

Finally, I'm obsessed with this black MK watch (another Black Friday purchase…oops!) and can't wait to try it with different looks. I feel like it's more casual than fancy, what do you think?

Vino Inspired

Top: Forever 21
Leggings: Victoria's Secret
Shoes: Aldo
Necklace: J. Crew Factory

Some things I hate: winter, freezing, cold, early darkness. Some things that help me cope: Pinot Noir.

I've been more into red wine than usual lately, probably because I can't drink it with my Invisalign adult braces in so it gives me an excuse to take them out (shhh, don't tell my dentist), but it also helps warm you up a little during these cooler FREEZING days.

Same goes for these Aldo booties with the amazing merlot detail -- warms this look right out by adding just the right seasonal touch of color.

Also, love this top that I scooped up from Forever 21 and these leggings with the fun faux leather knee detail. I got these babies from a big VS sale a few months back, but they have some similar, reasonably priced options available now.

Stripes and Stones May Break My Bones…

Boots: Forever 21
Bag: Aldo (OLD)
Necklace: Bibjewelry

It's hard to compete with the gorgeous foliage in the background, so I kept things simple with a striped tee (with leather accents of course) and my fave black jeans and booties.

I added a little color with a go-to statement necklace and pushed the short sleeve about as far as I can into the season. The best part of these booties is that they have a hidden wedge, so they look flat but they don't cut my short little legs off too much!

Also - FYI to all the trendy Boston ladies:
Dagne Dover (the designer of this gorgeous bag) will be visiting Lit Boutique on Hanover Street on Saturday for their trunk show (and debut of a new bag!) if you want to stop by!

Fall Details

Sweater: H&M
Tank: Forever 21
Jeans: James Jeans
Booties: Aldo
Sunshades: Rayban
Necklace: Stitchfix

It's been a hot minute since I've shared a look here; I was enjoying some rest and relaxation in the Caribbean last week followed by a little weekend trip to Maine. I'm finally back home -- freezing, snuggling with my pup, and focusing on fall fashion,

This outfit is all about the details - first and foremost this sweater. How awesome is the leather sleeve detail? It gives a simple tank-top-and-jeans look more of an edge. I scooped up these booties at a huge sale at Aldo recently. Unfortunately, I can't find them online but I linked to a few other cute options. My necklace is one of the best treats from a Stitchfix I got a few months back.

Finally, this little clutch was what I like to call a "panic purchase", made when I was rushing to go somewhere and couldn't find a small black bag so I raced to my nearest options to find something (Forever 21, Target, and Charlotte Russe -- Charlotte Russe won). The best is when I still like the item once the panic subsides! Tell me I'm not the only one who does this?!

Walk on the Wild Side

Top: Forever 21
Vest: TJ Maxx (Me Jane)
Jeans: James Jeans
Booties: Alloy (SO OLD)
Earrings: Bibjewelry
Bracelet: Bibjewelry
Ring: Baublebar
Wallet: LV

I've been searching high and low for a fur vest that didn't make me look a complete toolshed. After checking shopping establishment I came across (and I came across probably all of them since I have a shopping problem and the number of online retailers is virtually infinite) I finally found the vest at my soulmate establishment -- TJ Maxx. In the juniors department of course.

Paired with this fun floral blouse (which unfortunately I can't find online but just purchased!) and my most intense booties (circa 2009) I thought I'd try an outfit that was a little outside my comfort zone.

Stay tuned to see this furry little thang styled many ways over the next few weeks. I'm proud of myself for trying the trend! Any trends you're itching to try but aren't totally sure of?
