Kimono You Didn't

Kimono: Chic Happens (TJ Maxx score!)
Tob: Tobi
Shorts: Bullhead Denim (TJ Maxx score!)
Shoes: old || Love these ||
Necklace: Baublebar
Sunnies: Rayban
Watch: Michael Kors

First off, this kimono is amazing because I wore it in the IG photo that scored me a $50 gift card from TJ Maxx* - that gift card literally paid for this kimono 2.94 times. Amazing.

Second, I'm obsessed with kimonos - I think they make any look extra feminine and flirty. I like to focus it as the major statement of the look, so I tend to pair with basics, but I've seen a lot of looks that take more risk and totally rock it.

I've been wearing this look more casually this summer, but I went with a sexy heel this time to up the ante. I'm not sure I'll retire these mirrored shades as we transition into cooler weather, the vibrant color will be much appreciated on dreary, cold days.

Open Back Tribal

Top: Charlotte Russe (old)
Jeans: Kensie
Shoes: Prabal Gurung for Target (old)
Bag: Aldo
Sunshades: Ray-ban

This was one of my favorite outfits this summer. I love all the details and the way it all comes together for a complete look. As I think everyone is now very well aware, I love these neon shoes and white jeans with everything.

I found this top shopping this spring with one of my girlfriends in her search for a fun outfit for our upcoming birthday weekend - she popped into Charlotte Russe and I picked this up and purchased it without trying it on and it became one of my favorite looks this season - love that when that happens!  Especially when it happens for under $15!!! You may remember the story of this handbag from my Salmon Style post, still a classic!

I did some major fall shoe shopping online this weekend. I'm still dying for the bottom two pairs - what do you think? Should I purchase??

Evening Out

Photos by Maggie Jill Photography

Top: TJ Maxx (I've had this for more years than I've been out of college, for shame)
Jeans: Nordstrom (sold out - love these)
Shoes: Nine West
Clutch: Gift (from a small boutique)

This is my go to look when it comes to going out style. I love a nude shoe, a simple color scheme and just a little bit of detail to keep things interesting.

I was smitten with these jeans from the first minute I saw them on gorgeous Kate from For the Love of Fancy and couldn't believe I was able to score them for under $40 before they sold out. They are so comfortable and I think they look great dressed up or down. Prepare to see much more of these bad boys from here on out.

This top is an oldie but a goodie from TJ Maxx way back when and the clutch was a birthday gift from a friend. A look like this is easy to pull together and fits in wherever you may be heading.

And can we just talk about the gorgeous sunset? SO not ready for summer to end.

Salmon Style

Photos by Maggie Jill Photography

Shorts: TJ Maxx
Top: Ann Taylor
Shoes: Alloy
Necklace: Forever 21
Bag: Aldo
Watch: Michael Kors

I mean, hello. Can we talk about my natural scowl? My favorite way to show I'm having the best time ever is to look as serious and potentially angry as possible. Guys, this is how I show I know FASHION. But seriously, I'll work on showing a hint of a smile somewhere, sometime.

I bought these shorts at the beginning of the summer season and have been debating the best way to style them ever since. I finally landed on a dressier look, keeping the shorts the statement of the outfit with complementary neutral colors. I'm not wild about shorts in general, but I wanted to give them a try this season - I featured two on the blog so far so it's a good start.

I am obsessed with these shoes - this style has been trendy for about a year now I'd say and I've been waiting a.) to see how long it would stay and b.) for the perfect pair that wouldn't break the bank. I found this pair at Alloy (a longtime secret shoe haven for me) and got them during a flash sale. Also love this statement necklace that I snagged from Forever 21 - really helps jazz up the look and draws attention back to the shorts by living in the same color family. Baublebar and ILY Couture have some amazing sales right now - it's a good time to stock up on some statement pieces. The best part is they work in any season!

I haven't carried this bag in a while - I remember seeing it in Cosmo one month and realizing I had to have it once I realized it was from Aldo. I remember waiting for a table at Cheesecake Factory in the Providence Place Mall with manfriend and telling him I had to run to the restroom while I ran upstairs to purchase the bag. He's clearly a keeper for putting up with me.

TGIF everyone - any funny stories about some of your favorite purchases you'd care to share? Love to hear them!
