Jump To It

Jumpsuit: Collective Concepts via Le Tote
Blazer: H&M
Shoes: Alloy (old)
Bag: Rebecca Minkoff via TJ Maxx
Watch: Michael Kors
Earrings: Kate Spade
Bracelet: ℅ Lalo + Rae
Necklace: Gazel via Le Tote

I'm starting to explore spring trends and decided to go out on a limb and try out my first jumpsuit. I can't take credit for choosing the piece -- it came in my latest tote from Le Tote. I wasn't sure exactly how to style it and it certainly isn't ideal jumpsuit weather, but here's what I came up with.

I went with my trusty beige blazer and my favorite beige shoes from last summer. I feel like the shoes are equally as edgy as the jumpsuit and added the pop of color from my new Rebecca Minkoff. Now all I need is a great place to wear this look!

In warmer weather, I love this look without the blazer and look forward to trying it again after the floods of 2015 snow melts.

What do you think of this look? Any new trends you're waiting to try?

Spring Dreaming

Blazer: H&M
Shirt: Old Navy (men's size M)
Jeans: Vigoss
Shoes: Prabal Gurung for Target (old)
Watch: Michael Kors
Sunnies: Rayban
Bag: Louis Vuitton

As I ventured out into the falling snow to shoot these photos, all I could think about is how much I'm looking forward to spring. So at the last second, I swapped out my shoes for my favorite neon sandals to bring some warmth into this look.

Almost everything about this look is "boyfriend style" -- my jeans are looser than usual (aka they need to be washed) and the loose fit blazer and plaid give it that laid-back-but-really-i-styled-it-to-look-this-way vibe that I love.

Tip to pull off the boyfriend look: Shop your boyfriend's section (or even closet). This plaid shirt comes from the men's section at Old Navy (size medium). It looks pretty ridiculous without a top layer, but that's beside the point.

Also, if you've noticed that my hair looks absolutely amazing -- it's all thanks to Jessica at Jessica's Salon in Beverly!

Back In Business!

Blazer: H&M
Top: Forever 21 (Sleepwear!)
Jeans: Vigoss
Shoes: Coach via TJ Maxx
Clutch: Felix Rey
Sunnies: Karen Walker
Necklace: Charming Charlie
Ring: Baublebar
Watch: Michael Kors (for sale in my Poshmark closet now!

Working life and New England weather is killing me. I haven't been able to get a worthwhile outfit shoot done in so long! So looking forward to the days with more than 5 minutes of daylight and temperatures higher than my age.

I did manage to pull off one good outfit sporting this adorable blazer I picked up at H&M for only $15! It's the wonderful time of the year where everything is on sale because holiday shopping has ended and it's time to make room for spring (which CANNOT come soon enough if you ask me!)

I tried a new look pairing a structured blazer with a loose graphic tee and a sharp statement necklace to pull the two together. I kept the shoes neutral and the jeans distressed to continue the contrast theme of fancy and casual.

I topped it off with a burst of color from this gorgeous clutch I scored from a consignment shop a while back. I am hoping to be back on a normal posting schedule next week, but in the meantime -- pop over to my Instagram to see my day to day looks!

Day to Play with Dagne Dover

Blazer: H&M
Top: TJ Maxx
Skirt: Vintage (my godmother's!)
Heels: Steve Madden
Flats: Tory Burch
Tote: ℅ Dagne Dover
Earrings: Bibjewelry

My last "day to play" post got great feedback, so I thought I would do another!

I found this Dagne Dover bag and it took my transitioning game to a whole new level. The bag itself is fully optimized to neatly carry all the things you need for work while still looking fabulous enough to join you at the bar after (a severe step up from my usual nylon workbag).

My favorite part about the bag is the compartment designed to hold my shoes a water bottle. But seriously, what a convenient way to tote my switch out flats without them touching everything else in my bag. Plus, my iPad slips in and out easily while the coated canvas material can stand up to a lot which is a must as I get ready for commuting through the Boston winter.

I paired more of my fall palette favorites -- houndstooth and oxblood -- with a classic beige blazer, black tights, and leopard pumps for a more profresh day look (subbing out Tory flats when needed, obvi.) and ditched the blazer and untucked the blouse for a look suitable for Wednesday vino. Easy peasy!

Blazer Basics

Blazer: H&M
Top: TJ Maxx
Pants: TJ Maxx
Necklace: J. Crew
Bracelets: J. Crew
Watch: Michael Kors
Shoes: Necessary Clothing
Bag: Michael Kors
Sunglasses: Ray Ban

Nothing dresses up a basic outfit as nicely as a neutral blazer. I love the slightly oversize fit of this H&M blazer to stand out from the typical 9-5 style. Because I kept the look simple with a black tank and black skinny anklebiters I wanted to jazz things up with a chic statement necklace. I've been loving this necklace this season because of its versatility - it works with so many looks which you'll see in upcoming posts. You can't go wrong with these gold toe black pumps and I think a structured black handbag is the perfect accessory to complete this put together look.
