Sk8ter Skirt

Skirt: Nordstrom
Top: TJ Maxx (old)
Shoes: Coach

I can't get enough of this skater skirt I scooped up from Nordstrom during the anniversary sale this summer. It's a perfect transition piece -- the material is well suited for cooler weather while the length and style give you some flexibility to style for summer.

I've been experimenting with different pieces to pair with this skirt (very excited to start wearing it with black tights) and I love how it looks with this sheer, neutral blouse. This was also a perfect excuse to wear my amazing Coach pumps I found at TJ Maxx a few weeks ago. I can't get enough of this bow detail -- obsessed.

The shoes and skirt are the statement pieces that do all the talking for this sort of simple look. I'm so excited skater skirts are in at the moment because they are super flattering to my shorter frame - the flared skirt falls short making your legs look miles long, something that's not easy to accomplish with my 5'2 frame!

Monday Blues

Top: TJ Maxx
Skirt: H&M (old)
Belt: H&M (old)
Shoes: Kohl's (old)
Necklace: J. Crew Factory

Another Monday after another [not nearly long enough] weekend. I was inspired by the start of the work week to post a professional outfit -- with some super fun, not quite as professional shoes.

These blue suede beauties make this outfit pop, but I'd swap them out for a lower heel and less platform for a board meeting and throw them on for 5 o'clock happy hour instead. However, I think the color is totally appropriate -- check out these office safe options: Splurge / Save

A pencil skirt and heels is one of my favorite classic looks -- it's super feminine and flattering but also has that "I'm a boss lady" air to it as well. This is an oldie but goodie from H&M, one of my favorite places to scoop up work basics to stay current without spending a fortune.

Also, this top was only $10 on clearance at TJ Maxx -- it was easily a no brainer.

Happy Monday! Hope you have a fabulous week!

Neutral Lace

Top: TJ Maxx
Jeans: Kensie
Shoes: Alloy
Necklace: Aldo Accessories (old || similar here
Bracelet: J. Crew Factory
Watch: Michael Kors
Bag: Louis Vuitton

Fine, so it's fall today. That doesn't mean I can't rock this neutral end of summer look before accepting that cold weather is making itself at home here in Boston for the next few 87 months.

I've worn this lace top several ways this summer. I loved this look for keeping things simple and neutral with some really nice details. The lace top, the suede lace up shoes, and some jewels go a long way to making this outfit stand out.

I've officially retired my summer Louis until next season. I'm ready to move on to crisp, dark, romantic colors for the fall season. However, I think you may be seeing a few more white looks as we continue the transition to fall….rules, schmules.

Do you retire any summer wardrobe staples?

Highlight of the Summer

Maxi Skirt: Dorothy Perkins
Crop Top: Tobi
Shoes: Prabal Gurung for Target
Clutch: Unknown (so old)
Watch: Michael Kors
Bracelet: J. Crew Factory

This highlighter yellow pleated maxi skirt was easily one of my favorite purchases this summer. Knowing it was certainly not suitable work attire (although I did wear it once!) I figured it would make for a good statement outfit this season. I also purchased my first crop top (since my amazing long sleeve Tommy Hilfiger crop top my mom would never let me wear circa 2001) and decided to take two risks in once outfit.

Most often I wore this look with flats but couldn't pass up the opportunity to pair it with my equally offensive highlighter yellow heels. Nothing better than a loud, fun, feminine look that makes your legs seem 10 miles long. Currently experimenting with how to work pleats into my fall and winter looks this season.

Felt like fall for the first time in Boston today! Can't wait to feature some fun fall looks! Anything in particular you would like to see me style?

Kimono You Didn't

Kimono: Chic Happens (TJ Maxx score!)
Tob: Tobi
Shorts: Bullhead Denim (TJ Maxx score!)
Shoes: old || Love these ||
Necklace: Baublebar
Sunnies: Rayban
Watch: Michael Kors

First off, this kimono is amazing because I wore it in the IG photo that scored me a $50 gift card from TJ Maxx* - that gift card literally paid for this kimono 2.94 times. Amazing.

Second, I'm obsessed with kimonos - I think they make any look extra feminine and flirty. I like to focus it as the major statement of the look, so I tend to pair with basics, but I've seen a lot of looks that take more risk and totally rock it.

I've been wearing this look more casually this summer, but I went with a sexy heel this time to up the ante. I'm not sure I'll retire these mirrored shades as we transition into cooler weather, the vibrant color will be much appreciated on dreary, cold days.
