On Trend

Photos by Maggie Jill Photography

Maxi dress: Forever 21 (old)
Shoes: Prabal Gurung for Target (no longer available)
Sunshades: Rayban
Watch: Michael Kors
Bracelet: J Crew Factory

Floral prints and neon accents have been everywhere this summer season. I combined them both in this outfit just to show you how on point and trendy I am.

I hunted down these shoes forever after I missed them at Target and couldn't find another pair I loved as much. I scored big time when I found them on Poshmark brand new with tags! They are perfectly neon and really stand out in any outfit - super fun for summertime.

Picked up this maxi dress last spring and have worn it tons since - it's great to dress up and down and accessorize. Kept things simple this time to showcase the shoes and my new mirrored sunshades - obsessed with them. They've been getting great feedback most likely because everyone likes being able to see their reflection instead of my mug while we converse. :)

Fields of Fashion

Dress: Forever 21 (no longer online)
Tunic: Target (old)
Wedges: Target (last summer)
Wallet: Louis Vuitton
Sunnies: Ray-ban
Watch: Michael Kors

This maxi dress was another fabulous Forever 21 find that I scooped up for less than $15 one weekend shopping with a girlfriend. The dress is one pattern and strapless and comes with a black braided belt. I've been wearing this dress on repeat so I wanted to try something different.

I tried layering this white tunic over the dress using the braided belt to cinch the waist. I love how it came out! I love outfits that work multiple ways! I could wear this little number to work then remove the tunic and add a fun necklace to take this outfit out to the bar. Always good to have options.

Fun fact: The grass was SOAKED while we were shooting here and so was I by the time I was done sitting for the photos. But come on, we totally had to….I did it in the name of fashion!

So here's the good news - in total this whole outfit (sans Wallet) cost under $30. Here's the bad news - between the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale and all the fashionista inspiration over the past few days, I've been spending a whole lot more than that…

Oh well, cheers to a few amazing upcoming mail days. And as a sort of random side note: if you are on the fence about whether or not the Clarisonic face cleaner is a worthy purchase - I would like to confirm it is. In fact, I'd like to scream that from the rooftops. It's a MUST PURCHASE. Finally caved during the first round Nordstrom sale and I am quite content.

Pristine Pastels

Pants: Kensie
Top: Olive + Oak
Shoes: Nine West || Loving these
Necklace: J. Crew Factory || Similar (and cheaper!) here and loving this
Watch: Michael Kors
Sunnies: Ray-ban
Bag: Louis Vuitton

You know how sometimes your "9 to 5" turns into your "9 to 5 minutes until I'm supposed to be at the restaurant for cocktails and BFF catchup"? An outfit like this is the easiest way to get you from point A to point B with the least amount of chaos.

White jeans are essentially a uniform for the next few months and they pair really well with this pale pink blouse (I consistently try to pair this blouse with blue denim and it just never quite works!). Wearing the blouse buttoned all the way with a glam statement necklace keeps you looking put together and on point for work. When it's time for dinner, ditch the necklace and open a few buttons and you've got a more relaxed style for girl talk. Be serious - you can't be buttoned up when you're openly stating how you think one friend's baby is adorable while another friend's……is…..sort of…nice looking.

Bring a sexier pair of heels to change into for dinner if you want to go the extra mile. Do you find day and night outfit tips helpful? Is it something you'd like to see more of? Let me know - I love the feedback!

Live Colorfully

Top: TJ Maxx (old - SO old it could possibly date back to high school)
Skirt: Target || Love this
Shoes: Nine West || Love these
Sunnies: Ray-ban
Bracelets: Forever 21
Earrings: Forever 21  || Nearly identical here

I love how bright this outfit is - easily one of my favorite outfits of the summer so far. This skirt is super versatile in that you can choose how loud you want the outfit to be. Pairing it with a cobalt drape top really pulls the blue details out of the skirt and makes the whole thing pop.

I wore this skirt on my trip to Chicago in June paired with a black halter top - the black tones the whole outfit down so the skirt stands out but isn't screaming in your face. It's all about where you're going and how offensively bright you'd like to be. In my case, I should always be offensively bright to offset my bitchy looking natural resting face… in some of these blog photos I am straight up scowling. One of Jill's classic sayings is "um…maybe try and look so happy in these ones"!!!

The only thing I'm scowling about is not purchasing the matching crop top that accompanied this skirt - kicking myself now, but glad I have the skirt instead of the top - so many more options!

What else? Any purchases you're kicking yourself for not getting now? Any bitchy resting face confessions? Talk to  me - I'd love to hear it!

Bright Lights, Neon City

Photography by Maggie Jill Photography

Skirt: Forever 21
Top: Tobi
Shoes: Xappeal
Earrings: Forever 21
Sunnies: Ray-ban
Watch: Michael Kors

I found this maxi skirt shopping with a friend one Saturday afternoon and to my dismay they were all out of my size. Fortunately, with Forever 21 being the magical place that it is - when I went back a few days later it was restocked and this was clearly a must have at a whopping $12.

I was pretty daring pairing it with this super low cut front and back tank but I think it turned out to be a good combo (so long as there weren't any sudden movements and/or surprise breezes).

While I think this outfit is totally killin' it alongside the sunsetting cityscape, I'm not sure the best occasion to rock it - date night? Girls night out? Sunday afternoon shopping at Russo's?

Also, this skirt is not shy about hugging your curves - when I first saw these photos I thought I could possibly be a long lost member of the Kardashian bloodline…

Simple Sailor

Bottoms: Bullhead Denim @ TJ Maxx
Shoes: Anne Michelle (old) || Loving these
Sunnies: Rayban
Watch: Michael Kors
Bracelet: J. Crew

When in doubt during the summer season, I always default to white basics. These white cutoffs paired with nautical stripes are an easy breezy combo that transitions easily from casual to date night with a shoe change - I wore flats during the day and changed into heels for evening.

Aviators and a neutral cross body are the perfect no-effort accessories. I could live in this outfit all summer; what's your favorite EOOTM (easy outfit of the moment - trying to be so cool with my abbrev)??

Sunset Stripes

Dress: Target (Similar here) || Loving this
Shoes: Steve Madden (old) || Loving these
Necklace: Charming Charlie (Similar here)
Bag: Louis Vuitton
Watch: Michael Kors
Bracelet: J. Crew
Sunglasses Ray Ban

It was so fun to shoot this look with the sun setting behind us. From where we were in Brookline you could see the sun setting over the city skyline - it was gorgeous.

Also gorgeous is this navy and white striped number I picked up from Target not too long ago. It's a perfect piece to dress up or down depending on your mood. The cinching in the waist makes it super flattering and the A-line skirt gives it a flirty feminine look.

I paired it with a gold statement necklace and pointed nude pumps to glam it up a bit - how would you style this dress?
